Munsyari, Its name refers to a'place with snow'.Situated on the banks of Goriganga River. Munsyari also falls on the ancient salt route from Tibet and is at the entrance of the Johar Valley, which extends along the path of the Goriganga River to its source at the Milam Glacier.

Weir Reserve is one of Penrith's hidden gems. It's named after the nearby Penrith Weir, which is a popular bathing spot for birds and other wildlife.
The forest is also home to a diverse population of birds. I will share more insights after I explore it at the end of November.
Sydney Olympic Park is a haven for 'Twitchers' with over a quarter of Australia's birds being spotted here. If you're lucky you may also see one of our migratory birds visiting from as far away as Siberia. Our species include: Superb Fairy-wren, Double-barred Finch, Spotted Pardalote, Grey Fantail and Red-browed Finch.
Australia's only metropolitan state forest, Cumberland State Forest, is located at 95 Castle Hill Road, West Pennant Hills, Sydney. It spans 40 hectares of native forest. The original privately-owned land was cleared in 1908. In 1938, its management was taken over by the then NSW Forestry Commission, and it was officially dedicated as a State forest in 1939.
Dharawal National Park offers a diverse bushland experience in southern Sydney. Dharawal was proclaimed a national park in 2012 following significant community involvement. Seventy years of restricted public access has kept the area largely undisturbed, so pristine surroundings await you on your visit. Dharawal National Park is the traditional land of the Dharawal Aboriginal people.
Some birds species are, Shining Bronze-Cuckoo, Fan-tailed Cuckoo, Crimson Rosella, Little Lorikeet, Scaly-breasted Lorikeet, Sacred Kingfisher, Superb Fairywren, Brown-headed Honeyeater, Scarlet Myzomela New Holland Honeyeater and more.
Lake Parramatta Reserve, spanning 73 hectares, is a haven for picnics, water activities, and tranquil bush walks. The hilly trails attract fewer visitors, creating an ideal environment for a diverse bird population. During my visit in October 2023, I photographed over 15 bird species in just two hours, prioritizing photography over species counting. It was a remarkable experience.
